Digital for Planet is a non-profit organization at work to support the design, development and adoption of innovative and green digital technologies and solutions for a sustainable development of our society and economy. Our goal is to realize a digitally-empowered society that ensures equal opportunities for everyone and guarantees to rescue and protect our environment. Our mission is to make the twin green and digital transition a reality.
What is your organization’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?
D4P aims to ensure that sustainability aspects are thoroughly integrated into all planned project activities. This includes identifying key requirements and criteria for defining use cases, as well as analyzing significant business and policy factors through its involvement in the Work Package 2: Requirements Analysis. Additionally, as partner of Work Package 6 that focuses on impact creation, D4P contributes to increasing awareness about the project’s activities and outcomes, helping to promote the project and the overall SNS JU initiative and aiming to create a long-lasting impact at several levels such as scientific, technological, and economic. Via dedicated panel sessions, webinars, surveys, interviews, events, and online promotional campaigns, D4P aims to outline and expand the specific environmental benefits of the 6G-NTN work. The ultimate ambition is to contribute to the EU Green Deal objectives but also to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 6G-NTN, D4P is also assisting the Coordinator’s team at University of Bologna for smooth and efficient management of several organizational and admin activities.
Why is this project important for your organization?
The 6G-NTN project is very important for our organization because it aligns with the mission of promoting digital technologies for the planet, which entails the development of next-generation communication networks that are more sustainable and inclusive by design. By working with top-notch players across the SNS JU ecosystem to create technologies that will provide connectivity and access to essential (and not only) services in a more inclusive, efficient and sustainable way, D4P aims to make a difference for the future of our society and our planet.
As active players of 6G-NTN, we expect to grow our knowledge and increase visibility in the Terrestrial and Non Terrestrial Networking R&D scene by engaging with partners committed to a sustainable digital transition.
